Umbra ("we", "us") is operated by Nukipa Labs. This policy explains how we handle information when you use this site.

The short version

Eclipse calculations run in your browser. We do not create accounts, we do not ask for personal details, and we do not store the locations or inputs you use.

Data we process

• Location: if you tap "Use My Location", your browser shares your coordinates with the page to compute local eclipse circumstances. This happens in your browser only — we do not store your location or send it to our servers. You can also type a city instead.
• Map tiles: maps are served by OpenStreetMap. Loading them shares your IP address with OpenStreetMap's tile servers (see openstreetmap.org privacy policy).
• Weather/cloud forecast: provided by Open-Meteo. Requesting a forecast shares the relevant coordinates and your IP with Open-Meteo (see open-meteo.com).
• Cookies: none. Analytics/tracking: none.
• Server logs: our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) may process standard technical request data (e.g. IP address, user agent) to deliver the site securely. See the provider's privacy notice.

Outbound links

We link to third-party sites (e.g. eclipse-glasses retailers and hotel booking sites). We are not affiliated with them and currently earn no commission; if that changes we will disclose it clearly. Those third parties have their own privacy policies; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Your rights

As we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. For questions, see our Impressum.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
